  where i can buy a copy of actual wts literature that shows the only channel of god's communication didn't "see" christ had returned invisibly (as every eye would do according to revelation 1:7) until well after the "event"?

  HLC talks to cease

  it has long been the practise for hlc members to give occasional (usually annually) public & special talks and local needs items on blood & related issues at meetings.

  these were often quite well organised with powerpoint presentations , handouts and open q & a session.. as of jan 2008 , the wts has written to all hlc members telling them that they can no longer do this & has written to bodies of elders telling them that they can no longer invite brothers to give talks , especially concerning the "advance medical directive document".. a hlc friend tells me that the wts apparently are further wanting to distance themselves from possible legal action and are also concerned that some hlc members are putting their own slant on the wts "conscience matters"..

  I agree with BB about their asserted rapport with physicians. I suspect it is more that physicians are professionals; therefore, most will not openly challenge them in the a public setting.

  hi, everyone ---.

  claire asked me to let the board know that ian is back in the hospital and expected to be there for about a week.. those of you who have been following the weekly vigil thread know that his cmv has returned.

  the virus is not responding adequately to the tablets, so ian needs to be medicated intravenously.. please keep ian and claire in your prayers.. marjorie.

  why did the jews feel that it was blasphemy for jesus to say he was god's son.

  does this indicate the jews felt he was claiming equality with god?

  This is an underground slang term that evolved amongst swindlers because the intended victim was said to be "marked" for the sting. It could also be a reference to confidence man Ben Marks of Council Bluffs, Iowa whom David Maurer credited as the originator of the "Big Store". The victims were, in actuality, Marks' although the reference would have meant nothing to them.

  In some instances the victim would literally be marked. This was a practice among traveling crooked carnival game operators in the past.

  Preaching work - What other religion preaches??

  i know the mormons go door to door and i have seen some church of god people occasionally.

  who else has organized preaching ministries (door to door, etc.)?

  i'm in an ongoing dialogue with relatives and this is one of their contentions - that the witnesses must have the truth (despite the many fallacies) because they are the only one that go door to door preaching.

  Watch the DVD "Jesus Camp." It is about a summer camp for training evangelical children to preach. Going door-to-door is not the only, nor the most effective, means of preaching. The fact that Evangelicals spread their message is documented by their growth...about 70/80 million in the US alone.
